  • Westwood Cross...Cruicification of Thanet shops continues

    MargateMargate 1westwood X buzzing

When we talk about our dying High Streets...they say we are against progress.

It is blatant greed that promotes Americanized shopping systems such as Westwood Cross Mall. While the numbered few profit from such an idiotic style of shopping, masses of people lose their costumers and businesses, poverty and unemployment goes up and the competitive mentality which is the major factor of breaking 'communities' becomes stronger.

    WHY?

People are brainwashed to a certain standard (often one that they CAN'T afford) and this consumerist paradigm unchecked, makes them not bother about the local produce, the local farm, the local craftster. Everyone lives the American Dream...in debt.

I personally have only been to Westwood cross 2/3 times, and each time it was with other friends who wanted to go there...I have not bought anything there.

It is becoming harder and harder to find authentic local shops and produce. I persevere...however to buy local..and promote local.

I can't really tell people what to do...but I hoped people realise that if we don't support Westwood Cross, we have supported our local shops. It is only a matter of discernment.

I really would like to know why our council has allowed such massacre of local shops...who is responsible for this...I am sure they are very rich for their crime.

BUY LOCAL!!! (Its better for your health anyway!)

  • The Science of Thanet Council

    einstein on council

“Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Thanetuscouncelium (Tc), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Tc has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Tccan cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete. Tc has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Tc's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Tc is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass

When catalysed with money, Tc becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Tc since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.”

  • Ramsgate Night Life

    Etiquette

I don't mean to be a party pooper...but those of you who live in Ramsgate anywhere near a pub can sympathize with what I say here.

3am...never ending screaming of a bunch of piss-heads in the street...with absolutely no comprehension that all these windows in the buildings that surrounds them...leads to someone ASLEEP!!!!

I don't know what to think of these people...blame their parents? Blame the pub culture?

Of course no one dares to go to them in that state and tell them to be quiet. They have decided to spend their hard earned cash in urinals...and we have to lose sleep over it!!! Am I being a ponce?

I have lost many sleepless nights to their stupor...how about you?

  • I love Thanet

    Old Map thanet

God! I get so upset when people talk Thanet down.

My suggestion to them is: If you don't like it here PLEASE leave!!!

Thanet is getting busier by the day and quiet frankly...I will be happy if there be less congestion on this magical isle.

And sure...I am up to my eyeballs with rightful complaints about our council and the authorities - but The land itself (as well as the sea and the sky) is the most beautiful...and it is filled with interesting, talented and lovely people. (ok...you get the bozzo's too...but they are like virus...they spread everywhere).

If the poverty level, unemployment and lack of opportunities are prominent here....blame the authorities (they can take a page from Folkestone's authorities' book in regards to helping these issues).

I myself absolutely love this place and everyone in it (I don't acknowledge the bozzos).

  • Wish You Were Here

    Greetings from Thanet

    Waiting for spring

Of all the winds in the world...we had to get the brunt of a bitter Russian one!!!

Its brutal...snow, wind...temperatures that make the thermostat redundant.

Why can't we ever get Amazonian winds? Tropical winds? Or even South African winds?

In this blog I am going to say things as they are...(viewing from my window!) - and so my first entry, albite its romanticising the snow in the above image...is about the fact that winter sucks!
